Movement Skills – Creating Competency

Movement skills form the base of sound movement. In the link below you’ll see an explanation of why your Fit2SHiNE coaches sometimes appear to be drilling a specific movement of an exercise over and over. Like anything without a solid underlying framework, the structure above is at higher risk. We are determined to give your kids a solid foundation to prevent the risk of injury, poor movement or stunt their potential.

We pride ourselves in making sure all kids first master the foundation movement skills, which are parts and pieces of the whole movement “before’ lifting any weights or adding significant load.

It’s this awareness, supervision and coaching that makes us at Fit2Shine Professional Youth Coaches.
It is very difficult and takes a really long time to unteach bad technique and a poor foundation. So, from day one we drill these basic movement skills such as how to brace my core, how to maintain my shoulder position, setting up my foot placement before starting to move, my knee alignment during an exercise, my neck and head alignment. When we teach this from day one and we keep them accountable to it to every movement they do, they improve faster, their foundation is strong and they have the opportunity to meet their full potential.
